Who Am I?
I'm a writer.
This isn't really obvious if you follow me on deviantArt, because I post very little of my writing here. I don't like the story format here - there's no room to put things like stories and characters and pairings where people can read them before reading the story except if I include it directly in the story file.
Most of my writing can be found on my Fanfiction.Net account. All of my posted writing can be found on my Livejournal.
What I do over here is post my dabblings in visual art. I'm not much of a visual artist, and I've become even less of one ever since my other laptop broke and most of my 3D stuff got shelved in backups until I get a better computer.
So I write. I dabble in visual art.
I try to support the community, because the community is one of the most interesting things about deviantArt. (I try to support my communities on Livejournal, too.) I suspect I have mixed success there, but what I do makes me happy.
What is My Artistic Passion?
Stories. People. Pain. Sex. Love. The way love hurts. The way being alone hurts. The way doing what's right hurts. The way doing what's wrong feels good and you don't care who it hurts. Sacrifice. The price of what's right. Politics. Trade. Anger. Passion.
Duende.
Why Did You Get into Art?
I don't know. I remember writing from a very young age, but I didn't get serious about it until about ten years ago. Since then, it's been a journey.
I keep trying my hand at visual art because I want to make lovely things and get mental images out of my head without having to pay someone. But I never try very hard. It just isn't that huge a deal for me.
I know I got into 3D work because of a contest on deviantArt. I'd like to get back to it, but there's a number of pieces I want to render that are slow and painful to do on my current computer. So I'm trying to find work and scrape together money to pay off my bills and save for a better graphics computer.
How Do I Inspire Myself?
By reading. By listening to music. By taking walks. By letting my mind wander.
In the back of my mind, I put together everything I take in. I let it percolate, I let it mix, I let it change. Then it comes back out on its own as mental images or characters or worlds or plots.
The hard part is getting it to yield three of those four rather than just one or two.
Where Would I Like To See Myself in Five Years?
